ELLEN LEVITT SPEAKS ON "LOST SYNAGOGUES OF THE BRONX"



Ellen Levitt is a lifelong New Yorker (Brooklyn, to be exact) who is the author of The Lost Synagogues of New York City series of books published by Avotaynu. (The Lost Synagogues of Brooklyn, 2009; The Lost Synagogues of the Bronx and Queens, 2011; The Lost Synagogues of Manhattan, 2013). She is also the author of Walking Manhattan (Wilderness Press, 2015).

She has written freelance articles and essays for many print and online publications, including the New York Times, New York Teacher, ThirdAge, Brooklyn Eagle, The Wisdom Daily, Writers Weekly, and others. She is a veteran teacher, and also gives walking and biking tours based on her books.
